Y una muchacha, todos son muy lindos. -

Was surprised how good the food was when I came. Pupusas are pretty good, granted I've had better, but if you want some quick Pupusas that taste good in Pacoima, come here. Their Chicken dinner is also very good.

I love when this happens ....
I am in an area that I don't really know. We finish an activity (hacking at golf in this case at Hansen Dam) ... and we have time for a quick bite before heading home. My son, for some reason is hankering for pupusas ... he remembers having them at Gloria's in Culver City when he was a wee lad ...
No problem! Let me just quickly scroll through Yelp and skip playing any more golf because I suck! Luckily I come across Pupuseria Cuzcatlan.
We don't really know what we're doing and our spanish vocab is limited (loroco? revueltas? asado?) The english of our server is better than our spanish but also limited. Feels like we're on an international vacation and we like that!
We figure we can't really go wrong so we order some pupusas and the pollo asado - grilled chicken. A little time goes by, but we are rewarded by the fare:
pollo asado - generous chicken leg and thigh, grilled and moist, served with delicious refried beans, rice with veg and a raw slaw salad with cheese
pupusas - con camarones, chorizo, loroco y jalapenos, pollo, chicharron y revueltas. Savory, filling, warm, comforting. Served with vinegary slaw and tomato salsa. Feels like your grandmother is cooking for you and it doesn't ever get any better than that.
I manage to photograph the first few dishes but get lost in the pupusas and am gone to another dimension ... so sorry! Will try to get ample pics the next time.
Prices are not advertised so we went on faith. $30 total for 3 and we bring a good portion home. We are HAPPY.
If you're in the area, give this a try. If you're not in the area, give this a try. You will not be sorry. -

This place was good and very authentic. Not the best Salvadorian food but good. Place was extremely hot.

Great customer service the lady that was there was an older lady but she made me feel welcome was very nice to me explaining to me the different plates they had and being patient while I was deciding what to buy. The pupusus I decided to get were cooked to perfection and they were cooked fast and once I was able to try they were delicious with the right topping and the place waa overall very clean and welcoming
